Day 17 - Hanging Around
Being that this is a weekday we didn’t accomplish very much. All we did was nail in the hangers onto the ledger and bolt the posts into the 20 foot long boards that would be supporting most of the weight of the deck. We used carriage bolts along with a nut and a washer, obviously. I managed to cut my right index finger fairly deeply while hammering, my finger got caught in a corner of the hanger. It didn’t hurt all that badly, but it bled like a stuck pig. :/
The ledger with all of the hangers nailed into place. At six nails a hanger, that was some serious hammering.
