Superdollars
I’ve been kind of following what’s been going on with the Korean Peninsula lately, mainly out of curiosity. Kind of like a train wreck, you just have to watch. I’m finding it amazing what they are doing. Some of the stuff that they do gets reported by the news, and a lot doesn’t.
One thing I’ve found about them is that they have been attempting to destabilize the economy of the United States for fun and profit. In the late 80s, the North Koreans got their hands on a special printing press which is very similar to the presses used by our mints to print money. With this press, they are able to print high quality counterfeits of American dollars. These copies are so good that they are practically indistinguishable from the real thing, hence the colloquial name for them, superdollars. Experts can only tell the difference after studying them from some time. In fact, defectors from the North have brought them with them when defecting, and South Korean Intelligence didn’t even believe that they were indeed fakes.
They spread these counterfeits with their diplomats. Whenever they are sent abroad, they are issued some American funds. About half are counterfeit, but the diplomats aren’t even told so. They’ve even worked with the IRA in an attempt to spread this counterfeit money.
Ah if we only had the manpower to go in and set things right there.
