Surprise, Surprise
You know, ofttimes, I am completely surprised by the various ineptitude of my family. Ineptitude wouldn’t be the best term here. It’s more like an inability to do things normally, I would say. I spent Thanksgiving at my cousin’s townhouse. No, not for Thanksgiving Dinner, but rather, Thanksgiving Lunch. Hindsight being what it is, that was probably better than dinner because I don’t have to spend as much time there. Were this dinner, I’d have been there ALL night long. The turkey was undercooked, and we just carved it up and whatever parts were undercooked we threw in the microwave.
The good news is after a quarter of a century, I’ve finally been promoted to the adults table, as opposed to being relegated to the kids card table that sits in the corner, and with my very own spill proof cup.
The bad news is that I’ll probably be back at the kids’ table next Thanksgiving, after I flung a spoonful of mashed potatoes at another of my cousins for being stupid.
